Since i used www.websitegrader.com to analyze and optimize my websites, i thought i would write a small article about it.

I had been using it for about 3 or 4 months now and i find it been helping me to make my site better. At the present time there is a little over 200,000 websites using this program. It is a new program. Every morning i used this program to see how well my sites is doing.

This program will look at over 50 different things, for to do with your website. And give you advice on how to makes your site better. And i for one want my site to be as good as it can be.

One of the thing it do is to grade your website. My www.rolliefish.com website is usually 70 to 87 in it grade. Which is very good, but there is room for improvement.

It will also tell you your google page rank, if you got one. Plus it will tell you a last time google was on your site. It will also tell you how many indexed pages google got of your site. The more indexed pages google got of your site the better.

It will also tell you if you got "Alexa Rank" and what it is. Alexa is Amazon for those of you that do not know that. I did have Alexa ranking for my www.rolliefish.com site, but for some unknown reason i lost it.

It will also tell you if you got any inbounds links. Plus it will tell you how many you got, to. It will also tell you if you are listed in certain directories. It will also look at your key words and tell you how good they are.

They will talk about your domain name. The longer you have your domain name the better. They will also tell you if you got a blog hook to your site. It is good to have a blog hook to your website. They will also tell you your blog rank on www.digg.com

Plus they will tell you a lot more about your site and how to make it better. And the best part is, it is free to join.

HOW TO GET NOTICE BY GOOGLE

How do you get notice and get on all of the search engines. Plus how do i get google page rank. This is a question that a lot of peoples is asking these days. Well that is what this page is going to be about. There is a lot to it but i will try to explain it in a straightforward way, that all can understand, if i can.

First you need a website or blog. I recommend you get a website because the website will give you more options. So you get yourself a website, now you need to add contents it it. You will need to pick a subject that you know something about or is of interest to you. This way you will enjoy working on your site, more.

Now where do you get your contents from. You could steal it from other sites, but this is wrong. Plus if google and others search engines find that you are stealing or copying stuff from others sites, they may drop you because of this. In fact they may even ban your site. And i am sure that you do not want this to happen. So you say, where oh where do i get my contents from then? You will need to write it all yourself. This way it is all new contents. Google and others search engines, like new well written stuff. Also try to correct all spelling errors. Peoples do not like to see spelling mistakes, this will lead peoples to thinks that you may not know anything, about what you are writing about.

Now that you got your site started and a few pages made, you can submit it to google. To submit your site to google go here. http://www.google.com/addurl  Now it can takes google spider up to eight weeks to get to your site. Now you also can submit your site to others search engines to. While you are waiting for googles and other search engines to get to your site, you will need to ,maybe add more stuff.  Now it may be a while before google spider get back to you, why is this. If you only got a small site, with little stuff on it, it could be awhile before he get back again. But if you got a big site, well done ,he may be back sooner. So in awhile google spider come back to your site, if he find no new stuff, he will not be a happy spider. But if he find lots of new well wrote stuff, he will be very happy. indeed. And this will cause him to come back alot sooner. The more new stuff, you have on your site, the faster google spider will come back to your site. What you want is this, you want google spider to come to your site everyday. This way, your site is updated everyday on google, which is good. This may also help you to get google page rank sooner. Plus it will be easily for peoples to find you on googles, to.

You also may want to make your website search engines and peoples(user) friendly. This will mean optimized your website. On my site ,i only got my home page optimized. You may well ask, why should i optimized my home page. Well we all want peoples to come to our site, plus we want them to come back, this is why you optimized your home page. You want your home page to load very fast. If it load to slow, it may cause peoples not to come. On your home page you should have no music at all. This will cause your page to load slow. Also try not to have to many pictures on your home page. On my home page, i only got three pictures and they are small. SITES THAT PEOPLES LIKE

After i build my website, i was giving some advice on what to do and what not to do when making your website. So now i am going to pass that information on to you.

Most of us want peoples to look at our site and say that is a very professional made site. We also want lot and lot of peoples to visit our site and spend time on them. So the following is some things you may not want to do.

Your website template should be light in color. I would go with a light blue, white or a light green template. These colors are supposed to be very easy on the eyes.

The next thing is music. Music can make your site load very slow. If you want music on your site, that okay but do not put it on your home page. If someone come to your site and your home page load to slow, they may leave and never come back, and most of us do not want that. I do not have any music on my site at all. Plus most peoples have their own music playing in the background on their computer.

Also video can cause your pages to load very slow. So if you want video on your site try to keep them off your home page. I do not watch video from any site, because they load to slow for me. But i can only get dial-up.

Also try not to have to many pictures on your home page. They can cause your page to load a lot slower.

Because after all most of us want peoples to come to our site. This is just my opinion.
